Mission trip to New Orleans
On August 25,2007 Ed Hill, Senior Warden, joined 16 other members of the WNY Episcopal Diocese from 11 parishes on a mission trip to New Orleans. The trip was set up with St. Paul’s Lakeview, New Orleans to provide volunteers for outreach support and the rebuilding of the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina. During the trip the group worked on several homes in various stages of reconstruction or demolition. They also aided in the distribution some very basic needs, helped with the mobile medical unit, worked in a soup kitchen preparing meals, community cleanup and several other tasks. Hill said that the devastation can not be expressed in words or photos. He provided some photos seen here and a presentation will be given Sept 30, 2007 during the Coffee Hour.
