Grade K- 5  at St.Peter’s

(Leader: TBA)

Grade K- 5 Sunday school meets most Sunday mornings from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. from mid September through early June.  Following Sunday school, we join our families upstairs for Holy  Communion.  Classes are held in the under croft in a classroom or our community meeting area depending on the day’s activity.  We have rotating class topics.  This year’s curriculum includes a monthly class on music.  The children learn a musical instrumental or vocal piece that is shared during the regular church service.  We have a a monthly class on the Old Testament that has touched on Moses, David and Goliath, Adam and Eve, Jacob and Rachel, Solomon, etc.  One Sunday we learn about the Gospel while creating Lego scenes.  We have integrated 2 plays into our calendar; one that focused on the meaning of Christmas and one that focused on the meaning of Easter.  Additionally, we have spent time this year learning some of the basics of our church, including the parts of the Episcopal church, church books, seasons, priest vestments and our liturgy.  Our goal is to teach our students in a varied manner about the Episcopal church, the Bible and God.  We also strive to facilitate and support an active relationship with God by teaching our students how to pray and to be in a healthy relationship with others.  Our classes are taught by a team of dedicated Christian adults.  We welcome new students to our group and any ideas towards enhancing our program.  If you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact Ginny Hemmer at 716-688-8418.  We would love to have your children join us!
