About
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church
St.
Peter’s is an Episcopal Church, part of the world wide Anglican Church. A member recently shared
with friends that he
was attracted to the Episcopal Church because he was allowed to ask
questions. If you
have questions about God and the
meaning of life, please come and join us in the search for answers in
the
fellowship of our Church.
St.
Peter’s was organized in September, 1953, meeting in a four room house
with 29
members. Ground was
broken in June, 1954
for the present Church which was dedicated on June 12,1955.
Our congregation is racially and economically diverse and is welcoming
to
married couples, singles, young and old alike.
Worship
at St. Peter’s
Welcome
to all who are worshipping with us at St. Peter’s for
the first time. We
hope that you will find
the peace of Christ within these walls, and that you will return to
worship
with us.
Our
primary Sunday worship at St. Peter’s is the Eucharist which means
‘thanksgiving.’
Some churches call this Holy Communion. The Bible is read and explained
and
prayers are offered by the faith community. Wine and bread are blessed
and
distributed to those who choose to receive. All baptized Christians are
welcome
to receive communion. If you do not wish to receive communion, but
would like
to receive a blessing please approach the communion rail and cross your
hands
over your chest. We believe that
Jesus
Christ is present with us at the Eucharist, as He said He would be.
